1781. ISRO conducts first successful rocket launching test with payload in UP
- On June 15, 2025 ISRO conducted its first successful rocket launch from Kushinagar Uttar Pradesh, in collaboration with Thrust Tech India Limited, marking a historic milestone for the state.
- The 15 kg rocket reached an altitude of 1.1 km, deployed a payload that safely descended using a parachute, and landed within 400 metres of the launch site.
- The launch is a precursor to a larger satellite event scheduled for October-November 2025, where nearly 900 student-built satellites will be tested to boost youth interest in space technology.
1782. ADB Approves $109.97 Million Loan to Transform Skills Development in Gujarat
- ADB approved a $109.97 million loan on 13 June 2025 to support Gujarat’s initiatives in advanced technical and vocational education and training (TVET).
- The loan aided the implementation of the Gujarat Skills Development Program, aimed at building an inclusive and future-ready workforce aligned with rapidly changing industrial needs.
- The initiative was carried out through a collaboration between Gujarat’s Labor, Skill Development and Employment Department and Kaushalya: The Skill University (KSU), in line with NEP 2020 and the Gujarat Skills Development Plan (2025–2030).

1783. VIDEO: Maharashtra Industries Dept, Max Aerospace Sign ₹8,000 Crore MoU For Helicopter Manufacturing Unit In Nagpur
- On 13 June 2025, In a major boost to Maharashtra’s aerospace and defence manufacturing sector, a helicopter production facility worth Rs 8,000 crore is set to be established in Nagpur.
- Max Aerospace & Aviation Pvt Ltd signed an MoU with Maharashtra's Industries Department to set up a helicopter production facility in Nagpur, expected to begin in 2026 and generate around 2,000 jobs over eight years.
- The project, supported by the Chief Minister, was seen as a major step toward defence self-sufficiency and Maharashtra’s emergence as a significant player in the national aerospace supply chain.
1784. Defence production surged 174%, exports grew 34-fold in 11 years of Modi government
- On 14 June 2025, It wa reported that, India's defence production increased by 174% since 2014, reaching ₹1.27 lakh crore in 2023-24, while defence exports grew 34-fold to ₹23,622 crore in 2024-25, with equipment being exported to over 85 countries.
- The operation utilised indigenous systems, such as the Akash surface-to-air missile platform, BrahMos missiles and loitering munitions, showcasing India's advancements in defence technology.
- Two dedicated defence industrial corridors have been established in Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, attracting investments worth over Rs 8,658 crore and signed 253 MoUs with an estimated investment potential of Rs 53,439 crore.
1785. Kavach 4.0 Trials Conducted To Enhance Passengers’ Safety, Train Operations
- On June 12, 2025, in a significant move to enhance passenger safety and train operation efficiency, the Indian Railways successfully completed field trials of the upgraded Kavach Version 4.0 between Bamrauli and Athsarai in Uttar Pradesh.
- The trials were a part of the Railway ministry’s flagship “Mission Raftar Project” under which the railways is increasing safety measures apart from improving train speeds.

1786. SDAL tests indigenous UAV 'Rudrastra' in Pokharan
- The Indian Army and Solar Aerospace and Defence Limited (SADL) successfully tested the indigenously developed Hybrid VTOL UAV Rudrastra at Pokhran Firing Range, in Jaisalmer, on 11 June 2025.
- Rudrastra showcased VTOL, long endurance (1.5 hours), real-time video link, precision targeting, and operational flexibility, including deployment of a precision-guided anti-personnel warhead.
- The UAV has a mission radius of over 50 km and an operational range exceeding 170 km, safely returning to its base post mission.
1787. Big Win for Make in India! Foxconn Exports Apple iPhones Worth Rs 28,000 Crore From India — 97% Headed To US
- On 13 June 2025, It was reported that,, Foxconn exported 97% of iPhones assembled in Tamil Nadu to the US between April 2023 and March 2024, helping Apple shift production away from China and reduce US tariff impact.
- Apple used chartered flights and requested faster customs clearance at Chennai airport to quickly export India-made iPhones, including iPhone 13, 14, and 15, as part of its China-plus-one strategy.
- Tata Electronics, a new iPhone supplier under Make in India, shipped over 85% of its production to the US in recent months, boosting India’s position as a global electronics export hub.

1788. ONGC, GAIL Begin Gas Supply to Gomati CGD Network
- On June 12, 2025 ONGC and GAIL (India) Ltd have started the direct supply of natural gas from Palatana, Tripura to the City Gas Distribution (CGD) network.
- The initiative connects the remote Palatana region to India’s CGD infrastructure, aligning with the Government of India’s North-East Vision to boost energy access and clean fuel adoption in underserved areas.
- The direct gas supply will benefit both residential and commercial users in Gomati, reducing reliance on conventional fuels and promoting sustainable development through cleaner energy solutions.
1789. New 300MW Hybrid Project Strengthens Sembcorp’s Renewables Push in India
- Sembcorp Industries, through its wholly owned subsidiary Sembcorp Green Infra Private Limited (SGIPL), has secured its first 50-megawatt Round-the-Clock (RTC) renewable power project from the Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI).
- The contract is part of SECI’s 1.2-gigawatt tender aimed at delivering consistent power supply from renewable energy sources connected to the Inter-State Transmission System. To meet the 50MW contracted capacity, Sembcorp will deploy approximately 300MW of installed renewable energy capacity, combining solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
- The project marks a significant milestone in Sembcorp’s expansion in India, increasing its gross renewables capacity in the country to over 6.5GW. Globally, Sembcorp’s total renewables portfolio now stands at 18.0GW, including acquisitions pending completion.
1790. India Approves Rs 64 Billion Rail Doubling Projects
- On 12 June 2025 It was reported that, The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister, had approved two key railway multi-tracking projects with a combined estimated cost of Rs 64.05 billion (approximately £610 million). These projects are part of the Indian Railways’ broader push to enhance capacity and efficiency under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan.
- The first project doubles the 133 km Koderma–Barkakana line in Jharkhand, boosting coal transport and Patna–Ranchi connectivity. The second project doubles the 185 km Ballari–Chikjajur line, enhancing rail links across Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
- The projects are aligned with the Gati Shakti initiative’s aim to deliver integrated infrastructure development and seamless connectivity for the movement of people, goods, and services.
